AirAsia X Bhd has released Jeju, South Korea, as its latest destination, with four direct flights weekly from Kuala Lumpur.
The service will start on December 12, 2017 and the promotional all-in fares are from RM199 one-way.
Speaking at the launch on Mon, AirAsia X CEO Benyamin Ismail said South Korea can be an important market and the group has seen great growth from its existing routes to Seoul and Busan.
He said the new route, that will now be complemented by the new service to Jeju, saving guests the trouble of domestic transit to the island province.
“We are targeting to accomplish an 80% weight factor for the Kuala Lumpur-Jeju course in 12 months.
Malaysia is the second largest vacationer market to South Korea, after China. We carry 2 million passengers per time, between South Korea and Malaysia,”” he said.”
Benyamin added the new Kuala Lumpur-Jeju way will provide over 150,000 gross annual capacity and you will be a significant raise to fortify business and travel and leisure ties between Malaysia and South Korea.
